The Festhalle, standing proud against the modern skyline of Frankfurt, offers a wealth of character for major events. The Festhalle is home to so many different events, including concerts, tournaments, cultural events, corporate days, product launches, conferences, exhibitions and gala dinners. The Festhalle once constituted a milestone in European architectural history as the largest domed structure in Europe. Today it is a legend.

With the construction of the Festhalle and its opening on 19 May 1909, the calls were answered for a hall offering
sufficient space for international exhibitions and congresses while having good acoustics at the same time.
On opening day, the 3rd Competition of German Male Voice Choirs took place. Right from the word go, the Festhalle became a venue for culture and entertainment.
In July 1909, the "International Aviation Exhibition" opened its doors on the Festhalle grounds and attracted 1.5 million visitors.
Today, as then, spectacular events from the fields of politics, sport, culture and science are held under the Festhalle's 40-metre-high glass roof, as are trade fairs and exhibitions. In the course of the decades, the Festhalle has developed into the historic heart of the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds. With its classisist outer shell, it adds a touch of special charm to the modern architectural ensemble on the trade fair.
